Cornwall is a fantastic place to live and work, with a rich heritage, spectacular countryside and coastline. An exciting and challenging opportunity has now arisen within our ambitious and vibrant Property Service to appoint a Portfolio Surveyor to the Operational Portfolio team.

The Council’s Property Service has 17 Chartered Surveyors, 4 Trainee Surveyors and 5 Support Staff along with a Maintenance and Energy team. It is responsible for the management of Landlord and Tenant relationships, the creation of new income streams, wayleaves and easements, disposal and devolution of assets and general valuation and property advice to the Council and its individual service areas.

Cornwall Council manages approximately 4,300 separate assets across the county. The assets range considerably and include large office buildings occupied by staff, commercial industrial units, retail opportunities, Council farms, beaches, public open spaces, heritage assets and sports facilities.

The work undertaken by the Operational Portfolio team is interesting and diverse as the portfolio consists of over 1,300 assets including corporate offices, family hubs, fire stations, car parks, libraries and many other assets.

This post could suit a qualified chartered surveyor or potentially someone approaching APC qualification. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic property professional with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, combined with relevant experience particularly in valuation and/or Landlord and Tenant.
