 Substantive On Call WM (B) 3.1 Falmouth (Internal Only)

This position is open only to existing operational On-Call Grey Book employees of Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service. Applications are sought from suitably qualified On-Call Substantive Crew Managers who currently hold a Level 1 Incident Command Qualification to apply through the promotions process for the role of Watch Manager (B) at Falmouth Community Fire Station.

You must ensure you:

·       Have an up-to-date PDR

·       Have completed appropriate command courses

·       Have a current Level 1 Qualification

·       Have completed your Council Mandatory Training &

·       Do not have any current discipline awards

You will need to submit an application consisting of two questions (max 4,000 characters each) and a supporting statement detailing how your skills, experiences and behaviours link to the position that you are applying for. The questions and supporting statement set the benchmark to invite candidates for interview so in your supporting statement, ask yourself, how your experiences, behaviours and attributes link to the role profile. You don’t have to provide evidence of everything, but it does need to be proven and genuine, you need to state why you are ready for the role and how have your experiences, qualifications and varying roles prepared you.

The statement needs to be reflective and personal to you. It needs to reflect your values and provide a narrative of who you are. Some points of interest, there is a maximum of 4,000-character limit (not word limit) including spaces on the supporting statement. You will be expected to demonstrate in your supporting statement your personal qualities, leadership and management - against the role profile.

Candidates successful at application stage will be invited to attend a formal interview and will be asked to deliver a presentation to the interview panel, topic will be shared after application sift. 

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies                         

 

This position will be subject to a standard criminal record disclosure check.

 

Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
