The main purpose of this job is to deliver contracts for Education Business Partnership, Cornwall Council and proactively identify and develop additional opportunities for collaborative initiatives between the business sector and education.

This role is centred on empowering economically inactive individuals to enable their integration into mainstream employment and training opportunities.

The Youth Employment Officer role is to work with employers and business networks to identify and create employment and work placement opportunities to support people who are unemployed and at risk of long term unemployment. 

This role holder will seek out and develop other opportunities for joint business and education work to the benefit of the participants across the project.  The role holder needs to be committed to facilitating employment, education and training opportunities for people for whom Health Conditions, Special Educational Needs (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issues present a barrier to employment.  The role holder will be required to provide in-work support for the first few weeks of work to enable young people to settle in to their new roles and ensure sustainable employment.

You will work closely with the wider Education Business Partnership team and other services within Cornwall Council Education to ensure work is complimentary, co-ordinated and not duplicated.

This role is government funded until March 2025.

This position will be subject to a criminal record disclosure check. 

Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
