Business Support Assistant - Fostering Service

 

We have a permanent vacancy for a Business Support Assistant supporting the work of Together for Families. The primary role is to provide administrative support in the delivery of those services, supporting operational colleagues and ensuring timely communications with service users and partner agencies.

 

The successful applicant will deliver or assist with a range of tasks including records management, meeting administration, financial transactions and input of information to the Case Management System. They will undertake personal workload management and be responsible for undertaking statutory checks for prospective foster carers (within strict timescales). This role will be required to administer financial purchasing.

 

This position will be subject to a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.

 

The role will be based from New County Hall, Truro.

 

After initial training this role could be worked in a hybrid way with working both from home and the office. Home working equipment will be provided. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they have the aptitude for home working and are able to work effectively and maintain confidentiality in their home setting. They are required to be resilient and capable to adapting to working in a fast paced and changeable environment, all of which are crucial for this role.

 

The role is 18.5 hours per week to be worked as follows:

Wednesday 13.15pm – 17.15pm

Thursday 08.45am – 17.15pm

Friday 08.45am – 16.45pm

 

About You (Skills, knowledge, qualifications etc)

 

Applicants should have 4 GCSEs (A-C), or equivalent, including English and Maths, excellent keyboard skills and demonstrate experience of working in an office environment.

 

You will have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise appropriately with all levels of staff, service users and other agencies.  A professional approach applying discretion and diplomacy is essential.  The successful applicant will enjoy the challenge of working within a busy team environment, display flexibility and produce good quality, accurate outputs, while often working to deadlines.

 

The Together for Families directorate provides support to children and families within the county.
