Project Support Officer Resettlement and Migration team  - Full time - 12 months initial fixed term contract.

(Greenbook Grade 2 -£24,482- £29,591)

 

Cornwall has a long tradition of being a welcoming County and a place of sanctuary. This has been seen again with the humanitarian response to the war in Ukraine; with 350 sponsors coming forward to host children and families in their homes.

In addition, Cornwall Council is committed to supporting refugees from Afghanistan, Syria and other global nations fleeing from persecution, war, famine and climate disasters.

We are looking for Project Support Officer to join this developing team. You will be working alongside colleagues to streamline processes, complete various administrative tasks and support your colleagues in their day-to-day roles. You will be expected to deliver technical and administrative support to colleagues from different teams, disciplines and partner organisations to provide a seamless service to users. You will have good communication, interpersonal and IT skills to provide an excellent customer focussed service which means actively seeking resolution to customer enquiries and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, partners, suppliers and colleagues. 

You will support teams in the implementation of ongoing customer services and process improvements and ensuring administrative support is efficient and effective. The role requires a high level of competence, self-reliance and initiative to progress and complete tasks within the area of responsibility. 

This is a busy post with a primarily administrative function, gathering documents and information from internal and external parties both electronically and in person, managing communications with the Public both electronic and verbal, facilitating events, providing information in a range of formats and signposting. The post will enable the team to work efficiently whilst providing good customer service. The ability to manage raw data and effectively manipulate for reporting is essential.  The post holder will be expected to work to tight deadlines and effectively prioritise different demands. You need to have excellent administrative skills, must have the ability to organise your own workload, a valid driving license to carry out visits and carry out tasks autonomously with minimal supervision.

Training will be provided in regards to refugee issues and Home Office policies.

The successful applicant will enjoy the challenge of working within a busy team environment, display flexibility and produce good quality, accurate outputs, while often working to deadlines.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they have the aptitude for home working and are able to work effectively and maintain confidentiality in their home setting. They are required to be resilient and capable to adapting to working in a fast paced and changeable environment, all of which are crucial for this role.

The post is a hybrid of working from home and regular travel to both local offices and the community. It will also include frequent visits to Hosts properties to carry out ID checks and gather documentation.

Mileage will be paid at the standard rate.

This position will be subject to a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.

The role is full-time, 37 hours per week to be worked, Monday – Friday however Part-time or flexible working arrangements will be considered therefore please state if you are applying on this basis.
